The Centre for Garden Art and Landscape Architecture (CGL) is an inter-faculty institution of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hanover and a leading research centre in Europe in the field of garden and landscape culture.

The Centre for Garden Art and Landscape Architecture (CGL) is an inter-faculty institution of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Universität Hanover and a leading research centre in Europe in the field of garden and landscape culture.

Goals of the CGL:

  • Interdisciplinary research and research funding in the fields of the history of garden art and garden monument conservation, contemporary landscape architecture and at the interfaces between landscape architecture, urban development and architecture
  • Information and exchange of experience at international level, both university and non-university, for science and practice, for teachers and students
  • communicating research results to the public (through publications, lecture series and exhibitions)
